Horsch Anderson has roots that span back over 25 years and over two continents. Back in the early 1980’s small grain farming practices were very different that today. Mulitple pass operations, more tillage, and a very long process were the traditions just to get a crop planted. Seeing this problem, Kevin Anderson set his mind to make wheat planting a one pass operation. Through trials and many hours in building models, Kevin introduced the Anderson Opener to the market in 1984. The Anderson Opener was the first ever opener of its kind, placing fertilizer and seed in a way to maximize crop stand and yield. Using twin row and deep fertilizer banding technology wrapped into one package, the Anderson Opener revolutionized small grains planting.
Across the globe at the same time many changes were happening in Europe. Communism was falling, democracy was growing, and the continent as a whole was in tune for history making revolutions. From the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe came tremendous opportunities in agricultural production. Seeing the demand for bigger and better machinery, Michael Horsch embarked on a mission to build products for farmers all over Europe. Innovation in tractors, applicators, tillage tools, and planting systems were made by Horsch and still continue to be the leader in seeding and tillage technology in Europe.
The birth of Horsch Anderson came to be in 2000. A chance meeting of two great minds of agricultural machinery innovation……Kevin Anderson and Michael Horsch……gave inspiration to build the first Horsch Anderson Planting System in 2002. Since that time Horsch Anderson has grown into markets across North America and continues to expand products and create innovation.
